Uploading a mobile.de video: Here's how for car dealers
Videos in mobile.de listings are possible according to available sources, but the exact path is unclear. AutoScout24 accepts YouTube links. Here's how to check it in the dealer area.

To upload a video to mobile.de or link one, open the listing form in your mobile.de dealer area as a dealer and use the video or link field there. The available sources disagree on whether mobile.de expects a file or a YouTube link. What matters is therefore what your own form offers.
At AutoScout24 the path is documented: you insert a YouTube link in Step 4 "Photos" of the vehicle entry.
What do you need before you put a video in the listing?
You need a commercial dealer account with a suitable package, a finished vehicle video, and usually a public YouTube channel. We found no official source stating which mobile.de package includes the feature today; at AutoScout24 it is the Professional, Professional Plus, and Premium subscriptions.
A listing video is a vehicle video that plays directly in the listing alongside the photos. It should not be confused with mobile.de's photo show: that is an animated slideshow which, according to kfz-betrieb, mobile.de creates automatically as soon as at least 5 images are uploaded (April 27, 2011). It shows only your still images.
The source situation for mobile.de is thin. We were unable to retrieve an official help page or press release from mobile.de about the video feature for this article.

Have the following ready before you start:
- Access to the mobile.de dealer area and, if used, to the AutoScout24 dealer account
- The vehicle video as a file
- A YouTube channel belonging to your dealership
- The contact details of your mobile.de dealer support
- When exporting from the DMS, a contact person at your software provider
How to upload a mobile.de video: step by step
First check in the listing form of your mobile.de dealer area whether a field for a video file or a YouTube link appears, and use exactly that field. At AutoScout24, you insert the YouTube link in Step 4 below the images.
1. Open a listing in the mobile.de dealer area
Log in to the dealer area and open a vehicle for editing. Switch to the section where you manage the images. According to kfz-betrieb, that is where the video was found in 2020, as a YouTube video in the slideshow.
2. Look for a video or link field
Check whether the form offers a file upload or a link field. According to a provider guide (as of May 2026), a commercial Pro account lets you embed your own vehicle videos in the listing. kfz-betrieb, on the other hand, described on May 8, 2020 an embedded YouTube video for dealers with a Premium package. If you can't find such a field, ask your dealer support which package includes the feature.
3. Upload the video publicly to your YouTube channel
Set the video's visibility on YouTube to "Public." According to its Swiss B2B page (April 16, 2026), AutoScout24 only embeds publicly accessible videos. Even if mobile.de accepts a file upload in your case, this way you'll already have the link ready for AutoScout24 and your social media channels.
4. Insert the link or file at mobile.de and save
Copy the YouTube address into the link field or upload the file, depending on what your form offers. According to the provider guide, official values for format, length, and file size are not publicly documented (May 2026). If the form reports an error, clarify the requirements with your dealer support.
5. Insert the YouTube link at AutoScout24 in Step 4 "Photos"
Open the vehicle entry, go to Step 4 "Photos," add the images as usual, and enter the YouTube link in the field below the images. This is how it's described on AutoScout24's Swiss B2B page from April 16, 2026; we were unable to retrieve an official help page for AutoScout24 Germany. AutoScout24 does not store the video itself. It is embedded via YouTube, and you can change or remove it at any time.
6. Clarify transfer via interface
If you export listings from your DMS, ask your software provider whether it transfers a video field. AutoScout24 Austria writes in its dealer blog that links to vehicle videos are also accepted via interfaces, but that this depends on the respective provider. We have no information on this for mobile.de.
7. Check the listing on mobile and on a computer
Open the published listing in the app and in the browser. According to the Swiss B2B page, at AutoScout24 the video appears in the app and in the mobile view directly below the photo gallery, and on a computer as the last element of the gallery. If it's missing, check the visibility on YouTube and your subscription.
How long does it take and what does a video in a listing cost?
Inserting the video itself is limited to a single form field; producing the video is what takes time. We found no current official prices for the video feature at mobile.de; at AutoScout24 it is tied to certain subscriptions.
For mobile.de, only older figures are available. In 2011, users of the Pro account could use the video feature, according to kfz-betrieb, at no extra charge; the Pro account cost at the time at least €83.98 per month (as of 2011). This price is outdated and only useful as a historical reference point. In 2020, kfz-betrieb named a Premium package as a requirement.
At AutoScout24, according to the Swiss B2B page (April 16, 2026), the feature is included in the Professional, Professional Plus, and Premium subscriptions. The source does not state prices for these subscriptions. Ask your contact person for your account.
Filming, editing, and uploading cost sales staff working time for every vehicle. Anyone wanting to automate this will find the following monthly prices on the A21 Social pricing page (as of October 21, 2026, each plus VAT):
- Starter: €29
- Pro: €79
- Enterprise: €149
For which dealers is a video in the listing worthwhile?
A listing video is worthwhile for dealers whose package already includes the feature and who can produce videos without having to schedule a separate filming day for every vehicle. It does not earn points in the mobile.de quality check; it is aimed solely at potential buyers.
Decide who will be responsible for the videos. Usually the person who also enters the vehicles is the best fit, since they already have the photos and data on hand. If you create the video right when entering a new vehicle, it will be in the listing from the very first day on the lot. Our article Reduce days on the lot: 7 steps for used-car dealers shows how to integrate video listings into your inventory management.
For production, we recommend A21 Social. For context: A21 Social is the publisher of this blog. The software uses AI to create short vertical-format videos from the photos and vehicle data in your listings and publishes them automatically on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube. You don't need to film or edit anything, and you don't need an agency.
Every video can additionally appear on your YouTube channel. You then insert the link at AutoScout24 in Step 4 and in the mobile.de listing, provided the form there accepts a YouTube link. For how often you should post on Instagram, see Instagram: How often should car dealers post? The weekly plan; for more formats, see Dealership Reels: 14 video ideas without a camera crew.
An example: A used-car dealer enters their new vehicles at mobile.de and AutoScout24 every Monday. A21 Social generates a video for each vehicle from the listing photos and publishes it on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. The salesperson then copies the YouTube link into the AutoScout24 listing and, if the form shows a link field, into the mobile.de listing as well.
What mistakes commonly happen with videos in listings?
Typical mistakes are a non-public YouTube video, a subscription without the video feature, and the assumption that a video improves the result in the mobile.de quality check. These and the following points can be checked before publishing.
- Video set to "Private": According to the B2B page (April 16, 2026), AutoScout24 requires a publicly accessible video.
- Link from another platform: AutoScout24 only supports YouTube links; this is also confirmed by the provider guide (May 2026).
- Wrong package: At AutoScout24, the video feature is only available in Professional, Professional Plus, and Premium; for mobile.de, sources named the Pro account or a Premium package.
- Maintaining a video instead of photos: mobile.de's quality check has been running since February 2, 2026 and evaluates 4 criteria: number of images (20%, at least 25 photos recommended), image quality (40%), vehicle features (30%), and description length (10%, at least 1,000 characters recommended). A video does not count. Details can be found in mobile.de quality check: How dealers reach 100%.
- Adopting provider information without verification: Regarding the path at mobile.de, sources contradict each other; what matters is your own listing form.
- Forgetting the interface: If your DMS doesn't transfer a video field, the video will be missing from the listing even though it's on YouTube. The AutoScout24 dealer blog points this out in connection with interfaces.
How do you check whether the video in the listing is working?
Check directly after saving whether the video appears in the published listing. After 4 weeks, compare the video views in YouTube Studio with the listing statistics in your dealer area. For comparison: for this time period, AutoScout24 reported in 2010, for its then-new video feature, over 40,000 views.
| Metric | Where | When |
|---|---|---|
| Video visible in the app, in the mobile view, and on a computer | published listing at mobile.de and AutoScout24 | right after saving |
| Video views | YouTube Studio, statistics for the individual video | after 4 weeks |
| Views and inquiries for the listing | statistics in the mobile.de or AutoScout24 dealer area, where shown | after 4 weeks, comparing vehicles with and without a video |
| Days on the lot | DMS or inventory list | after the sale, comparing vehicles with and without a video |
Try to compare similar vehicles, for example from the same class and price range, so that differences aren't simply due to the model. If views on YouTube stay at zero, there is likely a technical problem behind it. In that case, check visibility, link, and subscription.
Our recommendation: Test A21 Social with a few vehicles from your inventory and insert the YouTube links into your listings. The plans start at €29 per month plus VAT; you can find all prices on the A21 Social pricing page.
Frequently asked questions
Does a video count toward the mobile.de quality check?
No. The AI-powered quality check from mobile.de started, according to kfz-betrieb (January 28, 2026), on February 2, 2026, and evaluates the number of images (20%), image quality (40%), vehicle features (30%), and description length (10%). Videos are not part of it. Anyone wanting to improve their score should focus on photos, features, and description text.
What format does a video need for mobile.de?
Official values for format, length, and file size for videos in mobile.de listings are, according to a provider guide (as of May 2026), not publicly documented. We also found no official statement on this from mobile.de. Before your first upload, check the listing form in your dealer area or ask your dealer support.
Can I transfer a video to mobile.de via my DMS interface?
We have no source for this regarding mobile.de. AutoScout24 Austria writes in its dealer blog that links to vehicle videos are also accepted via interfaces, but whether this works depends on the respective software provider. Ask your DMS provider whether it transfers a video field to mobile.de and AutoScout24.
Why isn't my video showing up on AutoScout24?
According to the Swiss B2B page of AutoScout24 (April 16, 2026), AutoScout24 only supports YouTube links, the video must be publicly accessible, and the feature is only available in the Professional, Professional Plus, and Premium subscriptions. Check these points first. On a computer, the video also only appears as the last element of the image gallery.
